Free IP Scanner

Eusing Software Free IP Scanner does precisely what its name says: it scans an IP range. Launch the application, click the Start Scanning button, and this application will go to work. By default, it scans the IP range starting from 192.168.0.1 up to 192.168.0.255. Once the scan completes, the main panel on the application’s interface will be populated with a list of results, list that covers the following details: IP Address, WorkGroup name, Host Name, User, MAC Address, Port. The list of results can be exported as a plain text TXT file, you can remove individual items from the list, you can open any IP in the list.

Go to the Options menu and you can play with a few parameters: IP scan maximum threads, IP scan timeout, port scan timeout, only scan IP address, display dead hosts, autorefresh to scan X minutes, scan port.
Go to the View menu and you can play with a couple of visual settings: show grid lines, auto size columns.

Free IP Scanner does not have to be installed. To get started with this free IP and port scanner, you need to download and run an executable. As it says right in the application’s name, this application is free software. This fact is confirmed by the “Support Free IP Scanner” dialog that shows up when you launch the application. This dialog will invite you to register your Free IP Scanner copy. To get a registration code, you must make a donation. If you don’t register, the “Support Free IP Scanner” dialog will show up every time you launch the application.
